Pakistan crush Afghanistan in the 2nd T20I to seal the series

Pakistan put up an impressive performance to win the 2nd T20I against Afghanistan by 8 wickets and seal the series with a game to spare. The visitors chased down the target of 126 with ease, thanks to a magnificent knock by Babar Azam, who scored an unbeaten 70 off 60 balls.

The Pakistan captain, who was declared the player of the match, played some delightful strokes and formed a solid partnership with opener Mohammad Rizwan, who scored 32 off 26 balls. The duo put on 86 runs for the first wicket, which virtually sealed the game for Pakistan.

Earlier, Afghanistan had won the toss and elected to bat first. However, their batsmen failed to capitalize on the start and kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Only Najibullah Zadran showed some resistance with the bat and scored a fighting 40 off 36 balls. However, it was not enough to give his team a competitive total.

The Pakistan bowlers, on the other hand, bowled with discipline and picked up wickets at crucial intervals. Shaheen Shah Afridi was the pick of the bowlers for Pakistan, as he finished with figures of 3/24 in his four overs. Mohammad Hasnain and Shadab Khan also chipped in with two wickets each.

With this win, Pakistan have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match T20I series. The two teams will now play the final game on March 29 at the same venue.

Babar Azam's magnificent knock

Babar Azam, who is widely regarded as one of the best batsmen in the world, played an exceptional knock in the 2nd T20I against Afghanistan. The Pakistan captain was under pressure after his team lost the first wicket early, but he played with maturity and responsibility to guide his team to victory.

Babar showed his class with some delightful strokes, including some elegant cover drives and pulls. He also rotated the strike well and kept the scoreboard ticking. The Afghanistan bowlers tried different strategies to break his concentration, but he remained calm and composed throughout his innings.

Babar's knock was a great example of how to play according to the situation. He did not take unnecessary risks and waited for the loose balls to score runs. His partnership with Rizwan was crucial for Pakistan, as it gave them a solid foundation to chase down the target.

Pakistan's bowling attack

Pakistan's bowling attack was one of the major reasons behind their victory in the 2nd T20I. They bowled with discipline and kept the pressure on the Afghanistan batsmen throughout the innings. Shaheen Shah Afridi was the pick of the bowlers, as he picked up three wickets and gave away only 24 runs in his four overs.

Mohammad Hasnain and Shadab Khan also bowled well and picked up two wickets each. The Pakistan bowlers were able to restrict the Afghanistan batsmen to a total of 125, which was not enough to challenge the strong Pakistani batting line-up.

Conclusion

Pakistan's win in the 2nd T20I against Afghanistan was a complete team effort. Their bowlers did a fantastic job to restrict the Afghanistan batsmen to a low total, and their batsmen chased down the target with ease. Babar Azam's magnificent knock and Shaheen Shah Afridi's impressive bowling were the highlights of the game.

Pakistan will now look to whitewash Afghanistan in the final game of the series and continue their dominance in T20I cricket. Afghanistan, on the other hand, will have to regroup quickly and come up with a better performance
